Sly and the Family Stone built this album out of hope right before everything got harder — “Everyday People” and “I Want to Take You Higher” both live here, and the band would perform the latter at Woodstock just months after this record dropped. The group itself was a statement: Black and white, men and women, sharing the stage as equals in 1969, years before that was the norm anywhere in rock or soul. Stand! is the sound of funk, psychedelia, and gospel-rooted optimism colliding into something that still holds up.
Genre: Rock / Funk / Soul / Psychedelic
Year: 1969
Label: Epic — BN 26456
Country: US
Condition: Media: VG+ / Sleeve: VG
Notes: Sleeve has natural wear and tear and a name written on the inside.
