Spinning Sunset Vinyl Fair
Spinning Sunset, The Sunset Strip's free annual vinyl fair, returns on Saturday, August 29 from 1–7 p.m. at Sunset Plaza. With over 3,500 attendees at the debut event in 2025, this year’s Spinning Sunset will celebrate music, vinyl, and community. The event features 80+ vendors selling vinyl records, music memorabilia, and vintage clothing, plus live DJ sets, a vintage car show, food trucks, a beer garden, giveaways, and more. Businesses throughout The Sunset Strip will also join the celebration with cocktail specials, after parties, specialty menus, and additional activations. Free RSVP is encouraged, but not required, via Eventbrite.
Summer of Salsa - Final Event
Latin Gold Records closes out the Summer of Salsa with one final summer sale at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes on Friday, September 11th.
Dance like nobody’s watching with Conjunto Oye! Founded in 2004 and led by trombonist Adam Rundquist, this salsa band is known for performing “Nuyorican” salsa—a high-energy style rooted in traditional Cuban music and shaped by Puerto Rican influences. Recognized as one of Los Angeles’ premier salsa bands, Conjunto Oye! delivers powerful, vibrant performances that keep audiences moving.
Doors open at 6 pm with a free salsa dance lesson led by Dancing 101 with Roberto. The music and dancing continue until 11 pm. Bring your chairs, blankets, and best dance moves for a night of music and celebration. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Super DJ Robby
Born in Havana, Cuba, Robert Rodriguez, known professionally as Super DJ Robby, is one of Los Angeles’ most celebrated salsa DJs. He has performed alongside legendary artists including Oscar D’León, Los Van Van, José Alberto “El Canario,” Marc Anthony, and Tito Nieves, as well as the late icons Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. His international career has taken him to salsa festivals around the world, with performances in cities such as Dubai, Zurich, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
Summer of Salsa Series
Join us at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles for an unforgettable series of evenings filled with live music and dancing. Each month features a different live band, along with music by DJ Robby. Start the night with a salsa dance lesson from 6 to 7 pm—no experience is required. Free admission.
Salsa on Sunset
Sunday, August 16th - I'm setting up shop at Salsa on Sunset — a free, community-led dance party that happens one Sunday a month at Sunset Triangle Plaza in Silver Lake.
Never danced salsa before? No worries — there's a beginner class from 6 to 7 PM, then the dance floor opens 7 to 10.
I'll have a table full of Latin vinyl, funk, soul, and more, plus tapes and CDs, right next to the dance floor.

About this Performance
Helado Negro’s experimental pop has been hailed by Pitchfork for having “the breeziest vibe in town.” Reyna Tropical’s Afro-Indigenous drum patterns and environmental samples give their music a rhythmic, hip-swaying tropical feel. The two acclaimed artists come together as Helado Tropical, channeling their sun-drenched tenderness into sound. Built from guitars, drum machines, and synths, their nine-song collaborative album Helado Tropical lives somewhere between ambient and rhythmic, intimate and expansive. Together, they resist expectations on what Latin music should sound like, how it should feel, and what stories it should tell.
Summer of Salsa with La Verdad
Enjoy an evening with La Verdad, a premier West Coast–based Latin music ensemble deeply rooted in the vibrant Latino experience of Los Angeles. Led by award-winning singer and songwriter Gabriel Gonzalez (Quetzal, Boogaloo Assassins), La Verdad brings together world-class musicians in a dynamic fusion of traditional and original Latin American roots music.
Their diverse repertoire includes salsa, cha cha chá, boogaloo, funk, and Latin soul, delivering an electrifying live experience that resonates with audiences while celebrating cultural authenticity.
To celebrate the Summer of Salsa, Latin Gold Records will be putting out a special collection of Latin vinyl, ranging from Fania classics featuring Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, and Johnny Pacheco as well as a range of mariachi, ranchera, bolero, and cumbia music from across the Latin comunidad.

Come flip thru in person and enjoy a day filled with classic & rare vinyl, Japanese gifts + goods, saison, wine, and beer + yakitori along with music played thru a Klipsch sound system by Ohmega Hi-Fi.
