Scorpions — “Blackout”
That screaming face on the cover isn't stock art — it's a Gottfried Helnwein photograph, from an artist whose whole career interrogates trauma and violence, not exactly standard hard rock packaging. Blackout was the record that broke Scorpions in America — "No One Like You" and "Dynamite" got them onto US radio and MTV for the first time, and the album went platinum off the back of it. Dieter Dierks, who'd been behind the boards for the band since the '70s, produced it at his own studio in Cologne.
Genre: Rock / Hard Rock
Year: 1982
Label: Mercury — SRM-1-4039
Country: US
Condition: Media: VG / Sleeve: VG
Notes: 53 Hauppauge pressing (PolyGram/Phonogram, "0501" back-cover code variant). Media grades high VG — some audible surface noise on playback, not a clean copy. Sleeve: normal wear and tear.
