Ray Barretto — "Can You Feel It"
Ray Barretto built his name on congas and Fania salsa, but in 1978 he stepped into Atlantic Studios with Cissy Houston on vocals and cut something else entirely. “Fania For Fania Production” is printed right on the sleeve even though this is an Atlantic release — a rare side trip into soul-jazz, funk, and disco that most of Barretto’s catalog never touches. Mixed at Electric Lady Studios, produced by Barretto himself alongside Raymond Silva, this is the sound of a Latin jazz legend stretching into New York’s late-70s studio scene.
Genre: Jazz, Funk / Soul — Soul-Jazz, Funk, Disco
Year: 1978
Label: Atlantic — GM-200.2468
Country: Venezuela
Condition: Media: VG+ / Sleeve: VG
Notes: Venezuela pressing, minor ringwear on the sleeve.
