Johnny Ventura is merengue royalty — "El Caballo Mayor" — and this 1988 LP wears the nickname right on the cover. By this point he’d already spent three decades shaping modern merengue, and El Caballo...Una Leyenda leans straight into the legend status: the title translates to "the horse...a legend." Recorded and mixed at Audiolab in Santo Domingo, this is dance-floor merengue from one of the genre's defining voices.
Genre: Latin / Merengue, Salsa
Year: 1988
Label: JV Discos — DIL-80012
