Ismael Miranda — "The Master"

$15.00

Ismael Miranda earned the nickname “El Nino Bonito de la Salsa” fronting Larry Harlow's orchestra before he ever cut a solo record. By the time this 1983 set landed, Miranda was well past that early Harlow stardom — writing his own songs, producing his own sessions, running his own band. “Tus Flores Negras” and “Amigo El Viento” are both his own compositions here, backed by a lineup pulled straight from Fania's deep bench: Andy González on bass, Nicky Marrero on timbales, Adalberto Santiago on coro. Jerry Masucci, Fania's co-founder, executive produced it — a stamp of how much weight Miranda still carried a decade after “Abran Paso” made him a star.
